Davit (Dato) Chkuaseli is a prolific composer whose works were performed by the legendary Stanley Drucker from New York Philharmonic; his "Gloria Laudamus te Domine Deus" for symphony orchestra and mixed choir was performed to much acclaim by the Georgian National Symphony and Batumi State Capella.
Mr. Chkuaseli composed original music for the Georgian Theater of New York including "Prosperity", “Six Spinsters and One Man”, “Clinical Marriage”, “White Flags”, “Mirror”, and music for the film "Georgian Bread" directed by Katie Orjonikidze-Casey (available on Amazon Prime Video). His other compositions include music for mixed choir, string quartet, piano, clarinet, and orchestra.
Mr. Chkuaseli studied composition at the Tbilisi State Conservatory in Georgia with Goga Shaverzashvili and Westminster College of the Arts at Rider University in U.S with Christian Carey and Stefan Young; he has been a member of the Composers' Union of Georgia since 2018.
In addition to his endeavors as composer, Mr. Chkuaseli was very successful as a singer and choir instructor of the world renowned vocal group "Georgian Voices" in Georgia. After relocating to the United Stated he became a music director and choirmaster of the “Dancing Crane” Georgian Theatre of New York and a choirmaster of the Saint George Church in Philadelphia.
