Biography
Dilorom Saidaminova was born in the city Tashkent in the Republic of Uzbekistan in 27 of February, 1943. Ms. Saidaminova is one of the Brightest Living Classics of the Music of Uzbekistan. She is the member of the Union of Composers of Uzbekistan UCUZ, the Union of Composers of Russia, UCR as well American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, ASCAP, she is the resident in both Russia and Uzbekistan.
Dilorom Saidaminova was Winner of several National and International music competitions as well: the Second Prize in the International competition GEDOK in Mannheim, Germany in 1998, for By the Sound of Francesca, the First Prize in a National competition in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1983, for Holiday Overture, the Second Prize in a Song competition in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1983, for a Children's song, the Second Prize in a state-sponsored competition in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1982, for her Popular song of Uzbekistan, and the Special Prize for Most Outstanding Young Composer in Tashkent, Uzbekistan 1977, for Symphonic Poem.
Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova has been recipient of many Awards including a Grant from the Open Society Institute/Soros Foundation in Tashkent, Uzbekistan/USA in 2002 and the Award for Outstanding Contributions to Culture and Music, Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1991.
Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova studied piano with Professor Abraham M. Litvinov and composition with Professor Boris I. Zeidman at the Uspensky Academic Music Lyceum for Gifted Children in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 1950–61, then Ms. Saidaminova continued to studied composition with Professor Zeidman and piano with Professor Litvinov at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, where she graduated with her B.M and M.M. in piano in 1966, M.M. in composition in 1967 and DMA in composition in 1971. She later had Postgraduate studies with Professor Yuri Fortunatov at the P. I. Tchaikovsky State Conservatory in Moscow, Russia in 1981 and where she was also guided by one of the Patriarch’s of the Soviet Avant-Garde Music by Edison Denisov.
Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova works have been performed and known not only in Uzbekistan but also in many other countries such as Russia, Latvia, Moldavia, Byelorussia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Germany, Luxembourg, USA and many others countries, including portrait concerts in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2013, 2002, 2000, 1998 and 1992.
Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova has actively participated in many National and International music events such as the National Festival of Symphonic Music in Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 1998, 2000 and 2002, the International Festival of Contemporary Music “Ilkhom – XX” in Tashknt, Uzbekistan in 1997, 2000, and 2004 and the “Moscow Fall ” International Music Festival in Moscow, Russia in 1994, 1996, 1997to 2001, and 2003 to 2012.
She taught as a Professor of composition, music history and piano at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan from 1967–1995, Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova has also worked as General musical—editor of the National Uzbekistan State TV Company in Tashkent from 1985–88.
Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova first Uzbek composer who is both performed at Carnegie Music Hall of Pittsburgh, premiered of Festive Overture for Wind Symphony in 2003 and Carnegie Music Hall—Isaac Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage in New York, of Word premiered of Concerto for Saxophone and Symphony Orchestra, commissioned by the world’s Great saxophone virtuoso James Houlik (Wind Symphony version) in 2004.
Her most recent highlights it is composition Azon for Choir, Violin, Organ, Piano and Narrator, commissioned and premiered by Bach Chair of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, USA in 2002. Commissioned and premiered by Yamaha Performing Artist, Professor Joseph Lulloff, The Shadow for Alto Saxophone and Contemporary Ensemble, in Moscow, Russia in 2007. In 2010 was Triumphantly premiered Amir Timur for the Solo Percussion and Symphony at Moscow Fall International Music Festival in Moscow, Russia. The world famous trio the Verdehr Trio commissioned and premiered There is No Time… for Violin, Clarinet and Piano in Michigan, USA in 2014. For the Professor Dmitri Berlinsky winner of Paganini International Violin Competition in Genoa, Italy and International Chamber Soloists was specially written and dedicated The Looking Back for Violin and Chamber Orchestra. Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova one of the latest composition the Sonata for Flute and Piano specially written and dedicated to world famous flutist, Professor at the Michigan State University College of Music—Richard Sherman in 2015.
Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova fourth solo CD/DVD of chamber music for violin , recorded by her son Dr. Tigran Shiganyan, was released on Blue Griffin Recording label in 2016, awarded by two major prizes – In October 2016, The Akademia Music Awards for "Best World Beat Music Video" for the piece " Saraton " (Los Angeles, CA.), and from the Global Music Awards, the Silver Medal in three categories - World Music, Album and Chamber Music, in December 2016 in CA.
Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova wrote music for orchestral, stage, chamber music, choral , film scores, for solo piano and for other varies instruments, she composed more then 70 songs .
In 2007 the Oxford English Dictionary 2000, listed Ms. Dilorom Saidaminova as Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century.
