Pavel Romanenko is a new generation viola player. His playing is distinguished by virtuosity, a variety of sound colors and timbres, and impeccable sense of style. Pavel is accompanied by a rare artistic fortune - his career develops very organically, following the inner and professional growth.
Pavel was born in Astana (Kazakhstan) in 1992. At the age of five he entered the Kazakh National Academy of Music and studied with Violin Professor A. Abatova. 10 years later, he was inspired by the tone of viola and joined the class to of Viola Professor N.K. Karimov.
In 2016 he graduated from the Moscow State Conservatory and in 2018, he completed his post graduate studies in the class of People's Artist of the USSR, Professor Yuri Bashmet.
An invaluable contribution to the development of the young musician was made by the Associate Professor of the Moscow State Conservatory Roman Balashov.
Pavel is a laureate of 6 international competitions, including the 8th International Viola Masters viola competition of Yuri Bashmet.
Simultaneously with his studies, Pavel devoted much time to orchestral music making. In 2010-2013, Pavel took the position of the concertmaster of the group of violas of the most prestigious collectives in Astana (Eurasian Youth Symphony Orchestra, K. Baiseitova Opera and Ballet Theater, Opera and Ballet Theater "Astana Opera").
In May 2014, upon the decision of the Artistic Council of the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, Pavel was confirmed as principal viola section under the baton of Pavel Kogan.
As a soloist, Pavel collaborates with Moscow State Symphony Orchestra under the guidance of Pavel Kogan, State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia" (art director Y. Bashmet), the State Philharmonic Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus (artistic director A. Anisimov), the Astana Opera, Chamber Ensemble "Soloists of Moscow" (art director Y. Bashmet), State Chamber Orchestra "Academy of Soloists" (artistic director A.Mussakhadjayeva).
Pavel is one of the founders and the soloist of the producer center "Moscow Musical Commonwealth". Within the framework of this project, Pavel acts not only as a soloist, but also as a chamber musician.
Also Romanenko is a regular participant of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic's series "Great Music for a Small Ensemble".
